The recall affects rechargeable batteries supplied with specific portable video monitors – Summer Infant. The battery dimensions are approximately 1 ½ inches (L) by 2 ¼ inches and have a thickness of ¼ inch. They are black in color and TCL is marked in the right lower corner. The monitors were sold with a camera and alternative current adapters. The rechargeable battery is found only in the monitor. The batteries under recall have a combination of letter and numbers seen at the bottom at the beginning of the serial number on the back of the battery. Accidents/Injuries: In Canada, Summer Infant received 5 reports of the battery in question overheating, smoke and minor property damage.
In collaboration with Health Canada, Summer Infant, Inc., Woonsocket, RI announced a voluntary recall on specific rechargeable batteries supplied with video monitors because of an overheating risk.

Solution :
The buyer should remove the battery and communicate with Summer Infant to obtain a new battery. You can continue to use the monitor with an AC adaptor and cord.
